Proposed as a modul-dance artist by Plesna Izba Maribor [Slovenia]
Working Title is a theater installation that analyses the relation between a moving body and the gaze. It communicates with a decomposable figure of the body and an ambiguous presence that provoke the question of identification with stage development and the question of the position of power.
The selection of material focuses on slow movements that postpone decision making related to motion and consequently create a suspension. Inside that, prolonged time exists for breaking up the body as a whole and for analysing its structure. With different tempo variations the body in its irrevocable motion looses everyday meaning/purpose and shifts to the edge between object and subject and between an executor and sentient being. Irregular chronological tactics surpasses an entirely clear development of actions, therefore the plot stays unclear. It opens up a question about the possibility of choice between a victim and a donor, which is why the fable stays unexplained. It leaves an open space for the answer to the question: “Who or what chooses between a victim and a donor?” and therewith forces the viewer to select on her/his own about who is actually the protagonist; the performer or the observer?
